Wounded at Stono Ferry, SC.

11/9/1779, appointed Inspector General of NC Militia.

In the Spring of 1780, Maj. Gen. Richard Caswell convinced BG Jethro Sumner to allow Lt. Col. Henry Dixon to accept a temporary command in the NC Militia - in the Caswell County Regiment.

Retained his commission as Lt. Col. and effectively commanded the 2nd NC Regiment (2/6/1782) since Col. Patten was still in captivity.

From Caswell County, NC.

Died 7/17/1782 in camp at Round O, SC.
