Jesse Walton (Surry County Regiment), attached to Col. Benjamin Cleveland (Wilkes County Regiment). 1778, a Private under Capt. William Galbreath and Col. Benjamin Cleveland. 1780, a Private under Capt. Joel Lewis (Surry County Regiment), attached to Col. Benjamin Cleveland (Wilkes County Regiment). 1781, a Private under Capt. Joel Lewis (Surry County Regiment), attached to Col. Francis Locke (Rowan County Regiment). Fall of 1781, a Private under Capt. John Cleveland and Col. Robert Smith in the newly-created NC State Legion, and in the Wilmington Expedition. Possibly at the battle of Beatti's Bridge (statement unclear). Born on 5/31/1758 in Albemarle County, VA.
