James DeVane, attached to Lt. Col. Thomas Johnston (Onslow County Regiment). 1781, a Private under Capt. John Devane, Jr. and Lt. Col. Thomas Bloodworth. 1781, a Private under Capt. Robert Raiford (2nd NC Regiment) for eighteen months. Born in 1760 in New Hanover County, NC. W4013.
