1776, a Captain of Light Horse under Col. John Hogan. Later in 1776, attached to Col. Ebenezer Folsome (Cumberland County Regiment) to suppress Loyalists at Cross Creek. 1777, a Captain under Col. James Saunders in the Caswell County Regiment.
