On a 12/1/1779 list of volunteers, drafts. 1779-1780, a Private under Capt. Samuel Harrell (Hertford County Regiment) and Lt. Col. Archibald Lytle (a Continental officer). 1780, also a Private under Capt. Jacob Turner (Halifax County Regiment), attached to Lt. Col. John Lowry (Wayne County Regiment). In Charleston, SC erecting breastworks, etc., discharged before the town surrendered. 1781, a Private under Capt. John Bryant and Col. Whitmell Hill. aka Lewis Weathersbe.
