A Major on 11/22/1777 - regiment disbanded on 6/1/1778.

Joined the 4th NC Regiment as a Major in Jan. 1779.

Wounded at Briar Creek, GA in 1779.

A Major and a Colonel of Militia between the Fall of Charleston and the battle of Guilford Court House -

April 1781, back as a Major in the newly recreated 1st NC Regiment.

Captured and killed at Ft. Grierson, GA on 5/24/1781.
