First in DE unit. After the battle of Camden, SC, he visited relatives in Onslow County, and was drafted there. 1781, a Private under Capt. Stephen Shackelford and Col. Henry Young. 1781, also a Private under Capt. Hull Jones and Col. George Mitchell (Onslow County Regiment).
