Biography

Was a Major and a Lt. Colonel in the NC Continental Line. September 5, 1780, commissioned as BG (ProTempore) of Militia after Griffith Rutherford was captured at the battle of Camden, SC on August 16, 1780.

He insisted on retaining his Continental commission as well. He was killed at the battle of Cowan's Ford on February 1, 1781.
