From Richland District. First served under Capt. William Fullwood. 1776, enlisted in the SC 6th Regiment. 1779, served under Capt. Dunlap (Fairfield Regiment), Lt. Col. Calhoun (?). 1780, served 40 days as a Horseman under Capt. Henry Coffey (Camden District Regiment) and was at the Fall of Charleston. 1781, served 16 days as a Horseman under Capt. Marshall Davis (?), Col. John Marshall (Kershaw Regiment).
