Was a Private and a QM Sergeant in Dobbs County. 6/8/1780, a Captain under Lt. Col. William McKinnie and Col. Benjamin Exum. April of 1781, he and his men were surprised by a small British detachment in Duplin County on their way to Virginia, taken prisoner, paroled.
