Biography

Was a Sergeant in the NC Continental Line. 1776, a Private under Lt. Peter O'Neal and Capt. William Murry, attached to Col. Ambrose Ramsey (Chatham County Regiment). Started on the Cherokee Expedition, forced to turn back due to the lack of wagons and pack horses. 1779, a Private under Capt. William Lytle and Col. Archibald Lytle (a Continental officer) in the New Levies. Fall of 1780, a Private under Capt. William Douglas (Caswell County Regiment), attached to Brig. Gen (Pro Tempore) Henry William Harrington along the Pee Dee River. 1781, a Private under Capt. William Lytle and Lt. Col. Henry \Hal\" Dixon (both Continental officers). Born on 7/15/1751 in Lancaster County
