SC Daniel Horry Colonel SC Light Dragoons 1779 1780 Feb 1779, Colonel/Commandant of the newly-created SC Light Dragoons (State Troops) for 16 Months. After the Fall of Charleston, he took protection from the British, and in 1781, he sailed to England where he enrolled his son in school. The SC legislature considered confiscating his estates, but his in-laws, the Pinckneys, intervened and the legislature settled for an amercement of twelve percent.
